There are times when as part of God's discipline God has taken some of His children home. The biggest thing to remember whether we believe we can lose salvation or not is this - live in such a way that there is no possibility to lose it. Press on to ward the goal as Paul said. Don't see how far you can stray before you lose anything, rather see how far away from the "line" you can go being closer to God. Does that help? We are only saved through grace, not of works so that no one can boast as it says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Pastor Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04800517409379808354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872000786155298884.post-72126175326094676942018-08-03T11:50:55.033-04:002018-08-03T11:50:55.033-04:00This is where I get confused, I hear so many diffe...This is where I get confused, I hear so many different preachers who preach 2 different scenarios. The once saved always saved and the idea that the back sliders go to hell even if they were once saved. For example some believe Grace works like this : youre life is represented by you in a boat with a current pulling you towards hell. Grace is God giving you the oars to stay away from that final destination.
Others see it as the current is not pulling us towards hell but instead pulling us towards God, and the obstacles in the way keep us at times from getting there sooner.
I'm not sure which is right sometimes because it gets so confusing!
